The 29-year-old was a major acquisition by the Patriots this offseason, as they sent a 2028 first-round pick and a 2027 fifth-round pick to acquire the star wideout from the Philadelphia Eagles.

Brown hauled in three receptions for 26 yards on four targets from Drake Maye before leaving with his injury.

The three-time Pro Bowler played well for the Eagles in the 2025 season, as he had 78 receptions for 1,003 yards and seven touchdowns. He is poised to be the top weapon in New England's passing attack in 2026 and beyond if he is healthy.

While Brown is not on the field, the Patriots will lean on Mack Hollins and Romeo Doubs on the outside. Hollins had a solid 2025 season with New England, catching 46 passes for 550 yards and two touchdowns.

Doubs was another offseason acquisition, as he inked a four-year, $68 million deal with the franchise in free agency. Doubs is coming off a career year with the Green Bay Packers, finishing with 55 receptions for 724 yards and six touchdowns.

The Patriots lead 10-7 over Seattle in the third quarter, with the defense playing at an elite level. Maye has been efficient, completing 14 of 19 passes for 91 yards and a touchdown while adding 36 yards on five carries on the ground.

However, New England hasn't had many successful drives and will need a spark on offense to hold off the Seahawks.

If Brown is unable to return in Week 1, Maye will have to find a better connection with Doubs, who has yet to have a catch, and the rest of the offense to start off the season 1-0. New England will hope that Brown's injury isn't long-term, as he is the top weapon for their offense.
