Framingham High names James Rippey as new girls basketball coach

Framingham High School has announced James Rippey as its new girls basketball head coach.
Rippey brings a wealth of coaching experience at the high school and collegiate level, with 30-plus seasons working with student-athletes in a variety of sports. Most recently, he was an assistant women’s lacrosse coach at UMass Lowell for the past five years. Prior to that, Rippey was the head women’s lacrosse coach at Framingham State, where he had previously been an assistant football coach and intramurals coordinator.

“James has a great résumé and has coached successfully at a high level so we trust he will maintain the great culture in our girls’ basketball program” Framingham athletic director Paul Spear said in a release.
Rippey succeeds Kristen Audet-Fucarile, who led the Flyers for 10 seasons before leaving this summer to take an assistant coach position with Babson College. Audet-Fucarile led the Flyers to the Division 1 state quarterfinals in 2025.
"Thank you to Paul Spear and the entire search committee for their efforts in this process,” said Rippey in the release. “I am honored to accept this position and look forward to building upon the strong foundation established here at FHS. My goal is to help foster an environment that pushes our student-athletes to be the best version of themselves as both people and competitors, to support them in their journey both on and off the court.”
