On Jason Kelce's first Monday Night Countdown of the season, he wasted no time in getting into the bottom of why one of his ESPN co-workers did not show up to Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift's wedding.

Prior to kickoff of the Kansas City Chiefs and Denver Broncos season opener, the former Philadelphia Eagles center reminisced about the July 3 Madison Square Garden wedding. Jason shared that he had a great time with Pat McAfee and Scott Van Pelt but then slowly turned to put former NFL defensive lineman Marcus Spears in the hot seat on skipping out on the event.

“There was another person on the desk invited, but he did no-show us,” he said to Spears. “I still don't really know why.”

Spears began laughing and told Jason that he had a "family obligation" with his son. The former Dallas Cowboys star is on the Texas Longhorns basketball team. Jason was just playing around with Spears, as he knew that was the reason he could not attend the wedding.

If Spears had been able to come to the wedding, he would have been one of the 1,000 guests. Some of the A-listers that watched the couple say "I do" were Tom Brady, Simone Biles, Selena Gomez, Gigi Hadid, and more.

Jason had a special role in the ceremony where he served as the Best Man. Swift's brother, Austin Swift, served as her Man of Honor. The couple opted out of having groomsmen or bridesmaids in their ceremony.

During an ESPN interview with Travis and Patrick Mahomes, the Chiefs tight end gushed about his wedding. He shared that it was "the best night of my life. Marrying Taylor was more than I could have ever dreamed it to be because of all the people that showed up, and the amount of, you know, love that was in the air."

“Me and Taylor are so thankful for everybody that showed up, from the vows to just seeing everyone, to how much fun we had, throughout the entire evening and hearing that, kind of be relayed through everybody’s stories of the night," Kelce recounted on the Sept. 2 episode of New Heights with his brother, Jason Kelce. "And it was just so magical, man.”

Swift has yet to share details about the wedding publicly.
