Reese finished Thursday’s matchup against the Connecticut Sun with 30 points and 10 rebounds in just 25 minutes of action. She logged the fewest minutes in a 30-10 game in WNBA history as the Dream cruised to a 103-59 home win, with the contest’s lopsided nature dividing fans.
WNBA World Has Mixed Feelings As Angel Reese Makes History in 44-Point Rout
Fans delivered mixed reactions to Reese’s historic night. While some celebrated her stellar showing, others criticized her performance, noting that it came against Connecticut, which ranks just 14th in the league (10-31).
“Best game of her career. Yes, I know it was vs. the second [worst] team in the league, but this is how you should play vs. them,” one fan gushed.
“We are witnessing the rise of a legend of this game,” another observer raved.
One fan claimed that Reese should make the All-WNBA First Team:
“Angel Reese scored 1/3rd of the Dream’s points tonight! All-WNBA 1st Team, my girl!”
Others highlighted the three-time All-Star’s efficiency, pointing to what she accomplished in limited playing time.
“Only played 25 minutes! Put respect on her name,” one fan wrote.
“30 and 10 in 25 mins is actually insane,” another observer noted.
Meanwhile, others weren’t impressed with Reese beating up on a lowly opponent.
“She played the Sun, it don’t count. Them the rules,” one X user wrote.
“Against a Lottery team so it doesn’t count according to her fan base,” another user opined.
One fan also accused Reese of stat padding, saying:
“Stat padding against the worst team in the W…. And you all celebrate?”
Reese is averaging 16.5 points, 12.4 rebounds, and 2.8 assists through 40 games. She is gaining steam just in time for the playoffs.

Reese’s standout performance on Thursday also saw her extend the record for most double-doubles in a season. She broke the record on Aug. 30 after grabbing her 29th double-double against the Minnesota Lynx. She recorded her 30th double-double against the Sun.
The blowout win also saw Reese and the Dream create some separation in the standings, now holding fourth place with a 27-14 record. They are half a game ahead of the fifth-place Indiana Fever (26-14).
Atlanta remains well within reach of the Las Vegas Aces (28-13) for the No. 3 spot, with three regular-season games remaining.
