Infantino wants 'a culture of dialogue' ahead of planned FIFA reforms

FIFA president Gianni Infantino is seeking open discussions about possible reforms at football's world governing body, writing on Instagram on Thursday that there needs to be "a culture of dialogue, of listening to each other and respecting one another."
Infantino has been under pressure for weeks after critics accused him of being too close to US President Donald Trump, whose nations was the main host of June and July's World Cup.

The Swiss has also faced widespread calls to step down after his plans to sell off parts of the World Cup to private investors linked to Trump's circle. He was accused of not sharing the proposals with other top FIFA officials.
Infantino shelved the idea after the backlash and is now trying to rebuild bridges with talk of reform ahead of going for re-election in March next year.
"This is not about generating positive headlines, it is about doing what is right for the game," Infantino wrote on Thursday.
"I have never been more determined and committed in doing that. FIFA is always engaged. I am always engaged and want to hear how we can continue to grow football for the benefit of everybody, everywhere."
He had previously written to the governing FIFA Council and national associations about being open to change.
"I have received positive messages about (the letter) from different parts of the world, and it is important that we keep listening to each other," he added.
Reform proposals are to be discussed at the next FIFA Council meeting in October.
