Another week of College Football has arrived, and it’s shaping up to be an entertaining week in many upcoming matchups. For the hometown Boston College Eagles, they begin their conference games this Saturday when they welcome the Virginia Tech Hokies to Alumni Stadium. Down below are the games for Saturday 9/26 and what’s happening in the ACC.

Key Games to Watch
Wake Forest vs Louisville:
Wake Forest suffered a 33-20 defeat to the Miami Hurricanes last weekend. Despite the game being tied 7-7 in the first quarter, Miami’s offense erupted in the second quarter and they took a commanding 31-7 lead by the third. Wake Forest showed signs of life, as they fought back to get the score as close to 31-20. However, the most alarming part of the game was the team’s inability to run the ball – the Demon Deacons combined 16 carries for a mere 22 yards. That’s just not going to cut it in ACC competition.
Louisville should win this game with relative ease, especially with the way Wake Forest’s defense looked versus Miami.
Virginia Tech vs Boston College:
Coming off two straight victories, the Eagles are looking to make a statement in the ACC and improve on last year’s disaster. But this may not be the day for BC with a red hot Hokies team that’s playing with house money at the moment. The Hokies have been putting up points, can the Eagles find a way to slow them down? While the last two showings for the Eagles have been wins, they haven’t been the prettiest, and costly mistakes do not fare well versus worthy conference opponents. For BC to make this a game, they must continue to force turnovers and build off their strong running game as of late.
Georgia Tech vs Stanford:
This matchup may end up being the closest battle of the week. Georgia Tech earned their first victory last week, and look to get back to .500 on the season. Meanwhile, Stanford suffered a brutal 35-7 loss to Duke, and it’s clear the Cardinal are struggling for talent. Despite the opposite trajectory for both teams, conference battles sometimes show off the biggest surprises. Per ESPN, the Yellow Jackets are favored. Yellow Jackets QB Alberto Mendoza is coming off a strong performance and looks to continue on his elevated play. The Cardinal have been inconsistent versus QB’s this year, as they fared well versus Hawaii’s Micah Alejado and Duke’s Walter Eget, but were gashed by Darian Mensah of Miami. Keep an eye on how this one holds out.
