SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — The Central Bobcats take on the Belton Tigers in week five on Friday, Sept 27.
The Central Bobcats entered week five with a 2-2 record following a much-needed 42-7 road win over El Paso Montwood the week prior. The Bobcats looked to defend their home field at San Angelo Stadium Friday night, and they certainly delivered.

Central reached the scoreboard first, as quarterback Micah Smith connected with wide receiver Gavin Johnson for a touchdown. Central led 7-0 after its opening drive, which took only three plays.
Belton responded on its ensuing drive with a touchdown to even the game at 7-7, and the teams kept exchanging leads throughout the first quarter. Early in the second quarter, in a 10-10 game, Central running back Zeyvion Johnson scored his first touchdown of the game to put the Bobcats ahead 17-10. From that moment on, Central gained momentum and never looked back. The Bobcats ran away with a 52-29 win, and Johnson had 175 rushing yards in the first half alone.
The Bobcats improve to 3-2 heading into their bye week.
