Vikings may have lost tight end Josh Oliver for the season

The injury that knocked Vikings tight end Josh Oliver out of Sunday’s 23-16 win over Tampa Bay appears to be serious.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapaport reported on Monday morning that Oliver “is feared to have suffered a torn biceps in Sunday’s game and will have an MRI today [to] determine if that is the case.”

If his biceps is torn, he’ll be out indefinitely. Possibly for the rest of the season.
“We’ll need to evaluate that and figure out what’s going on there,” head coach Kevin O’Connell said of Oliver after the game.
Last year, Vikings offensive lineman Matt Nelson tore his biceps in training camp and missed the entire season. The most notable torn biceps injury last season featured Bills standout defensive lineman Ed Oliver, who suffered the injury on Oct. 26 and didn’t return until the Bills played the Broncos in the playoffs on Jan. 17.
The third tight end on Minnesota’s unofficial depth chart is Gavin Bartholomew. The 23-year-old is in his second season, having missed his entire rookie year with a back injury.
The only other tight ends on the roster are Ben Yurosek, who has at least one more week on injured reserve after suffering a lower-body injury during the preseason, and Cam Grandy, who is on the practice squad.
Minnesota is also monitoring injuries to wide receiver Justin Jefferson and running back Aaron Jones, who were both banged up against Tampa Bay.
