Patrick Mahomes was on the end of a controversial roughing the passer penalty at the weekend.
The Miami Dolphins defender, Chop Robinson, was flagged for taking down Mahomes inside his own end zone, shortly after he released the ball.

Although the argument stands that it was not a late hit, the officials clearly thought Robinson put in way too much force given Mahomes had thrown the ball.
It is a penalty that has been heavily scrutinised, with many fans feeling as if the referees protected Mahomes a little too much on Sunday.
Just days on from the hit, Mahomes has shared just how he is feeling ahead of the Chiefs’ AFC West game against the Las Vegas Raiders.

Andy Reid has already admitted Mahomes is doing well after the strong hit, with the Chiefs now preparing to face their unbeaten division rivals.
However, Mahomes was speaking at an event on Tuesday, where he was asked about the roughing the passer call on Robinson.
“No, I’m doing great. It was like a natural chiropractor. So I felt better after the game. I’m doing fine,” Mahomes said.
Heading into the 2026 season, there were a lot of concerns surrounding Mahomes’ fitness after his season-ending injury last year.
The quarterback has shown no signs of any issues following his offseason surgery, though.
Mahomes has thrown seven touchdowns and only two interceptions through the opening three weeks of the season.
Fortunately, the tackle from Robinson has not caused any lingering issues for Mahomes, who will be looking to end the Raiders’ unbeaten record this weekend.
