The Washington Commanders are hopeful that with Jayden Daniels playing now, he can stay healthy and avoid issues with that dislocated left elbow.

Daniels went down with a gruesome injury just a couple of weeks ago, one that looked like it was possibly going to end his season. Instead, the Commanders star decided to take matters into his own hands and will play without surgery.

Of course, the bigger focus is that Daniels can stay healthy, but the Commanders fan base wants to win some football games, as the team hasn't been able to do that over the past four weeks, sitting at 1-3.

Returning Daniels should help, though others don't believe he's the guy Washington needs. For the Commanders to be an elite team, Daniels needs to stay healthy. One executive doesn't believe that's the case.

“They’ve got to show more conviction to stick with the run and more max protections and an emphasis on getting him through games,” the exec said, per Jason La Canfora, H/T Heavy.

“He’s built more like a basketball player than a football player. It’s a very slight build; he doesn’t even have the core and the trunk of a guy like Lamar Jackson … They have to be fully committed to some things if this is going to work. He can’t keep missing all this time.”

Comparing him to Lamar Jackson isn't exactly fair considering that Jackson has also missed quite a bit of time throughout his career.

It's also insane to compare anyone to Jackson when you consider that he's arguably one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time and does things differently than any other player we've probably ever seen.

Again, that's not to say Daniels isn't a great player in his own right, but we're comparing him now to a multi-time MVP Award winner, something most guys in the league could never compare to.
