Wake Up! Week 8 Viewing Guide and Morning Open Thread
· Yahoo Sports
Alabama is rolling into a homecoming game vs. a floundering Texas A&M squad after the Tide took back to back losses against Georgia and Tennessee. The good news is that pretty much everyone in the top ten lost last week, too. The bad news is that Alabama look utterly hapless doing it. In any case, this week begins the rest of a season where the Tide cannot afford a single slip up and still hope to have any shot.
While we wait for that game in the 2:30 time slot, there’s also a decent slate of games this morning to keep you occupied and (hopefully) not fretting too much.

Kicking things off in the SEC is #18 LSU vs Auburn. The WarPlainsmen are coming off an emotional high after upsetting Georgia, so there’s always the question of whether that’s a momentum that carries forward, or if they wind up falling utterly flat after such a crazy win the week before. Meanwhile, LSU is still looking to prove they can be one of the elite teams in the country.
In the Big 10, you also have #6 Indiana taking on the 4-2 Michigan Wolverines. Michigan’s had a weird season, taking some weird losses but also some nice wins. Meanwhile, Indiana is reeling after losing their first game in 2 years.
The ACC is trotting out #1 Miami vs Pitt. The Panthers have lost two straight games after a 5-0 start, and Miami is still rocking along as the odds on favorite to win the Natty this year. An upset seems unlikely…. But hey, never hurts to keep an eye on them with how college football has been going this season.
Another interesting one could be the #8 Texas Tech vs Cincinnati game on FS1. The Red Raiders are quietly undefeated again, but they feel like a team that could slip up any week now.
So enjoy the morning slate, and we’ll see you at 2:30.
