Crystal Palace team news: Jo Potter’s side have struggled to find their footing since returning to the WSL, sitting 11th with just six points from their opening six matches. Their only league victory came against Everton on the opening weekend, although they did manage an impressive goalless draw against Arsenal. More recently, the Eagles suffered a 1-0 defeat to West Ham before losing 3-2 to Southampton in the Women’s League Cup on Wednesday.
Palace made several significant additions over the summer, bringing in former Chelsea striker Bethany England and defender Molly Bartrip from Tottenham, alongside experienced goalkeeper Pauline Peyraud-Magnin from Juventus. Meanwhile, forward Elise Hughes and midfielder Ruesha Littlejohn were among their most notable departures.
In terms of injuries, Swedish midfielder My Cato remains sidelined after suffering an ACL injury during pre-season, while Justine Vanhaevermaet is unavailable on maternity leave. No further major absences have been confirmed ahead of Sunday’s match.
Chelsea team news: The Blues were in rampant form against Tottenham last weekend, with Lauren James and Ellie Carpenter each scoring twice, while Sjoeke Nüsken and Maika Hamano also got on the scoresheet in a 6-2 win over the Spurs. Although we conceded twice after allowing only one goal in our previous five league matches, the attacking performance was certainly a welcome improvement.
Head coach Sonia Bompastor has confirmed that Naomi Girma remains unavailable due to a calf injury, with no clear timeframe for her return. Otherwise, the squad is fully available, including summer signing Manaka Matsukubo, who could finally make her Chelsea debut. Captain Erin Cuthbert is also building up her fitness after making her first appearance of the season against Spurs.
Previously: One goal in the first half, six in the second.
