After losing his job at FOX Sports, NBA legend Paul Pierce is allegedly “drowning financially” due to support payments, according to a new report.

TMZ Sports reports that he’s “tapped out” trying to keep up with his court-ordered payments after losing his FOX Sports job. His average monthly income was $119,000, and his last check was received in August. While he’s receiving no income every month, he made around $23,000 last month due to his business ventures. He says that he has $300,000 in the bank and $3 million “in property.”

He was recently involved in a legal battle with his ex, during which his former partner, Princess Santiago, demanded $30,000 a month in child support. Now, he is asking the court to shut down her request for $40,000 in legal fees and $10,000 for a forensic accountant. She claimed he was “playing games about his financial records,” and she wanted them investigated.

However, due to losing his job, he is having trouble paying for all the expenses. TMZ notes that he made an estimated $200 million during his NBA career.

Pierce claims he pays $28,000 in child support and $20,000 in spousal support monthly. Additionally, his other monthly bills run him another $48,000. He pays over $8,000 in child care, and his other expenses include $7,000 on eating out and $3,500 on “entertainment” and “various other expenses.”

The former NBA player spent 19 years in the league. “The Truth” was best known for his time with the Boston Celtics from 1998 to 2013. During his career with the Celtics, he won one championship. He was named MVP of the NBA Finals.

After his Celtics stint, he spent time with the Brooklyn Nets, the Washington Wizards, and the Los Angeles Clippers, calling it a career in August 2017.

He made an immediate splash in the NBA after being picked 10th overall in the 1998 Draft out of Kansas. Pierce made the All-Rookie First Team in 1999.
