Big 12 commissioner Brett Yormark is vacating his role and is expected to accept a new job outside of college sports, according to a report from ESPN on Friday, Oct. 30.

The report from ESPN's Pete Thamel added Yormark will remain with the league through at least Jan. 2027 and Big 12 presidents and chancellors have formalized the move after Yormark had approached them 10 days earlier about a new opportunity.

Yormark had led the Big 12 since Aug. 2022 after spending the previous three years as the CEO and president of Roc Nation, an American entertainment company founded by Jay-Z.

Yorkmark oversaw the conference during a time of significant change in the broader world of college sports and helped the league secure a six-year media rights deal with ESPN and Fox Sports worth more than $2 billion.
