Michigan football has big injury questions heading into Rutgers game

PISCATAWAY, NJ − It's a bit of a spooky health report for Michigan football on Halloween.

The Wolverines (4-3, 1-3 Big Ten) are getting closer to full health for their matchup with Rutgers (2-5, 1-3), but the status of some important players remains up in the air. Center Jake Guarnera, linebacker Troy Bowles, tackle Blake Frazier and safety Rod Moore were taken off the pregame availability report, indicating their intent to play.

Frazier missed the entirety of U-M's 13-6 loss to Indiana while Moore played just six snaps.

On the defensive line, Dom Nichols, John Henry Daley and Enow Etta are all still listed as game-time decisions for U-M's second road game of the season.

Nichols missed last week's matchup with IU while Daley has been listed on the availability report more often than not as he remains less than 100%. He missed the end of 2025 with an Achilles injury that required surgery and he spent more than seven months rehabbing before he took the field for U-M in fall camp.

Etta's injury is undisclosed; he was also listed as a game-time decision last week but played, though his snap count (25) was his second lowest of the season. Right tackle Andrew Sprague will also be out for his sixth consecutive game.

On the other side, star Rutgers wide receiver KJ Duff will be a game-time decision. He was listed as doubtful to begin the week, then moved to questionable on Friday. Now, it appears he will test his availability and try to suit up for the Wolverines.

He's the Scarlet Knights' best offensive weapon with 45 receptions for 774 yards (17.2 per receptions) and nine touchdowns.
