Kendriya Vidyalaya Admission 2026–27: The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) will conclude the online registration window for Balvatika and Class 1 admissions for the 2026-27 academic session today, April 2, 2026. In order to enrol their children in Kendriya Vidyalayas across India, parents must finish the application process on the official webpage by midnight.

Kendriya Vidyalaya Admission 2026–27: Eligibility Criteria
Minimum Age for Class 1: 6 years as of March 31, 2026
Age for Balvatika-1: 3 to 4 years as of March 31, 2026
Age for Balvatika-2: 4 to 5 years as of March 31, 2026
Age for Balvatika-3: 5 to 6 years as of March 31, 2026
Admission Rules: As per KVS Admission Guidelines 2026–27, including reservation policy
Note: Students from Balvatika-3 will be directly admitted to Class 1 in KVs where it is operational.
Kendriya Vidyalaya Admission 2026–27: Steps to apply
Step 1: Visit the KVS admissions website
Step 2: Select "New Registration" and input the child's and parents' basic information, such as an email address and a functional mobile number.
Step 3: A unique registration number will be created upon submission.
Step 4: Enter the credentials you were given to log in.
Step 5: Carefully complete the personal and academic sections. You will have the option to prioritise up to three Kendriya Vidyalayas.
Step 6: Upload a scanned copy of the necessary files.
Step 7: Verify the accuracy of all the data by looking over the complete program. When you're satisfied, select "Final Submit."
Step 8: Printing the application and the confirmation page for later use is highly recommended.

Kendriya Vidyalaya Admission 2026–27: Required documents
To avoid delays, keep all documents ready in both digital and physical formats.
Ensure files are within the size limit (usually up to 256 KB) and in the required format (JPEG/PDF)
Child’s latest passport-sized photograph (JPEG, max 256 KB)
Birth certificate issued by a competent authority
Proof of residence (electricity bill, Aadhaar card, etc.)
Caste certificate (for SC/ST/OBC-NCL candidates, if applicable)
Parent’s transfer details and service certificate (for priority category applicants)
Kendriya Vidyalaya Admission 2026–27: Selection process
No interview or written test is conducted for Class I admission
Selection is done through a computerised lottery system
Seats are allotted based on a priority category framework
25% seats are reserved under the Right to Education (RTE) Act for economically weaker sections
Reservation policy includes:
- SC: 15%
- ST: 7.5%
- OBC: 27%
Preference is given to:
- Children of transferable central government employees
- Defence and ex-servicemen families
